The mistreatment of undocumented workers in the United States is rediculously wide-spread, and it is almost impossible to tell whether the brand you are buying from engages in this kind of abuse. The same goes for brands that outsource. These companies produce almost all of our most basic needs, especially food and clothing. Many brands have merged together enough that it can be hard to tell just which company you are really buying from. In addition, most of the people being abused have little or no legal protections, which can make unionizing almost impossible. How, then, can we hold brands acountable when our primary form of action is boycotting?
